Reason for Issuing New Guidelines (2026)

Aadhaar Authentication – Mandatory as per Official Order
- Aadhaar authentication has been implemented on the scheme portal since October 2022.
- From 2026 onward, Aadhaar verification is mandatory for approval.
Aadhaar Requirement by Category
- Category 01 & 02 → Aadhaar of Mother and Father
- Category 03, 04, 05 & 06 → Aadhaar of Mother, Father, and Girl Child
- Aadhaar VID (Virtual ID) is permitted as an alternative

Aadhaar Based Payment System (ABPS) – Officially Implemented
The government has approved Aadhaar Based Payment System (ABPS) for direct benefit transfer.
Official Payment Order
- Payment will be made first to the mother’s Aadhaar-linked bank account
- If the mother’s account is not NPCI-mapped and the father’s account is mapped → payment to father
- If neither account is NPCI-mapped → NPCI mapping must be completed
- For Category-06, if the girl child applies herself → payment to her Aadhaar-linked account
This ensures accurate beneficiary identification and fraud prevention .
Category-Wise Age Eligibility (Official Table)
To prevent multiple applications, strict age limits have been defined.

- Rural Areas → Block Development Officer (BDO)
- Urban Areas → Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)
- Maximum verification period → 30 days
- District-level scrutiny after verification
- 10% random re-verification by District Probation Officer
- Incorrect or false applications will be rejected
Bank Account & PFMS Validation
- Bank account details are verified through PFMS
- Errors such as incorrect account number, IFSC, or inactive account must be corrected
- Without successful Aadhaar-NPCI mapping, payment will not be released
Helpdesk and Call Center Facility
As per the order:
- A dedicated Helpdesk / Call Center will be established
- Purpose:
- Provide correct scheme information
- Resolve application-related problems
- Support portal-related technical issues
- Expenses will be covered under the scheme’s administrative budget
